Hello! My name is Rhenan. I’m from the beautiful San Francisco Bay Area. Growing up in downtown SF, specifically in the SOMA (South of Market St.) district, I was very fortunate to be surrounded by so much culture. My parents, who are from the Philippines, taught me the importance of maintaining that culture, especially through food. As many Filipinos will tell you, our Mothers were the best cooks! My mother made sure my 2 brothers and I were all taught the right way to cook, as her mother taught her. With that, my baking journey began. My mother had only taught us how to cook savory meals, she was not big on desserts. As a child who loved sweets, this was my opportunity to explore the possibilities of creating my own. When I say my own, I would try different types of desserts and say “I like that, now how can I give it my own twist?”. So while my mother taught me my way around a kitchen, I am a self-taught, pastry chef.

I specialize in French Macarons, but my menu is diverse. I was inspired by some amazing establishments like Ladurée Paris, Pierre Herme and Sadaharu Aoki. These are the places where you’ll find the creme de la creme of Macarons. My ultimate goal is to create a unique and unforgettable flavor experience, just like those chefs who inspired me have done for so many others. As I tell my clients, if you crave it I will create it. I like to experiment and bring forth flavors unheard of in the Macaron world. If I can rekindle a childhood flavor, your favorite dessert, candy or candy bar. I am up for the challenge!
